Installation:
Windows Smart Component Installation Instructions:
This is a self extracting executable module. One can execute this module via the command line console or from Windows graphical user interface.
GUI Option:
Place the downloaded firmware package in a temporary directory.
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory containing the download.
Double click the executable file.
Follow onscreen instructions. After you are prompted for logon information, enter credentials for an account with management access rights.
CLI Option:
Execute the Smart Component by entering the following command: CP0xxxxx.exe /s
Important:
IMPORTANT: Firmware updates must be performed during a system maintenance window, with all I/O to the system halted. In single domain configuration, if user hosts an OS in D3000(or any storage box) and flash the SEPs, it will hang/crash everytime as SmartComponent will reset the SEPs after flash/codeload.
WARNING! Do not power cycle or
restart during the firmware update as this can result in loss of
capabilities for this unit. It typically takes several minutes for the
firmware to load.
NOTE: All firmware flash progress messages are logged to %systemdrive%CPQSYSTEMLogD3000.log and flash summary is logged to %systemdrive%CPQSYSTEMLogcpqsetup.log.
